The weather is not co-operating (still raining, reminds me of a certain party last year in Central Park. . . ). We are organised, most of food is prepped, beer in the fridge, the Greek wine is chilling and the costumes hanging in wardrobes.
I have started to wear a track to the airport, Noel arrived Friday week ago and left on Tuesday; back out Wednesday am to get Julie; Susie on Friday night and picked up the McCabe's yesterday. The car can just about do it on automatic pilot at this stage!!
Is it strange? Not in the slightest - not for me anyway; although Susie thought it was very surreal to arrive in Halifax to see her sister & Rev Julie waiting for her! Mind you, Susie is still recovering from her trip to Ireland & Italy - catching up with friends in Dublin & Halifax can be hard work ;)
We had a great time with Noel here - even put him to work taking down trees. Julie has been relaxing and enjoying the 'Northern' air! Bit of shopping and setting fires on the deck too (don’t ask).

And of course we had to sample the local beers and wine – speaking of which, birthdays are great especially when you start celebrating a few days before. Yesterday we went to Grand Pre vineyard for lunch. My Darling Husband got me a share in a vineyard for my birthday. (Worth turning 40 just for that!). Grand Pre is one of the first vineyards in Nova Scotia (yes they do make wine, good wine at that) here in N.S. And they have a members club called Crush – and I am the newest member. See more photos on Kodak site. Thanks Jonathan, best present to date :)

Anyways, can’t be chatting all day – food to finish and a party to get ready, before adopting Greek personas for the evening. . . . .
Looking at your Kodak pictures, I thought the @Eleanor Bolton@ vine must have been a birthday present. What a lovely, lovely gift and I enjoyed seeing the neighbours, too!
ReplyDeleteYou guys sound so happy,too.
