Last night was one of those nights when we briefly thought we would rather be living in a concrete-built house than a timber-frame. Why? The rain was bad enough (if the garage had been finished we would have been out there building an Ark!) And the fact that the lightning lit up the entire neighbourhood every few minutes was exciting at first but let's just say when the thunder cracked so loud and so close (milli seconds after the lightning) that we thought Thor (Norse God of Thunder) was standing on the roof of our house!!!
It poured for hours last night. So, when the guys turned up at 7am this morning, I was a little surprised to see the digger heading down the back of the property - mind you it was nearly swimming. We now have a great big trench dug down the length of the property (something to do with drains and septic fields, I don't ask too many questions). And now the sun is out again, you would nearly think you dreamt it all. . . . But if you were out West in BC, I believe they are having the best weather in 50 years - maybe we should all go out there for a few weeks. What about Ireland? Last I heard it wasn't too bright there either. Oh well, makes us appreciate the good weather all the more (when we get it), eh?
Anybody know if there is a Norse SUN god?
