Today we have an excavator (digger) parked in our backyard! The bad news about that is it means I have to find somewhere else to work on my all-over tan (yes, the weather is gorgeous, hot & sunny, break out the lemonade, summer is here!). However the good news is that they are starting work in the garage – yippee!!!! At last Jonathan’s playpen is being built. Somewhere to put all his tools and cars (toy ones & real ones), not to mention a place to escape to (when the sun gets too hot in the backyard, not to escape from moi!).
I guess I’ll have company in the form of builders, electricians & of course our ever-patient Project Manager, Gerry for the next 3-4 weeks. Well somebody will have keep an eye on them and make sure they don’t slack off! We’ve been waiting long enough for them to start (cause of delay was the fact that the land out back was so water-logged they didn’t want to dig the foundations).
So, we’ll have even more room for visitors (the upstairs will include a self-contained apartment, bedroom, kitchenette & diner when it’s all done). Yes, we’ll post pictures as work progresses – here’s one to give an idea.
