One Down - 99 to go!

Well we went back to NYC for the weekend of our Anniversary. The weather was fabulous, the drive was long but very pretty. The hotel was a bit quieter, maybe because we were missing the rest of the wedding party (rowdy lot they were!). We went back to Seven for dinner, joined by the Reverend (Julie), the steak was still pretty tasty and the wine was very good but despite the complimentary drinks (they did remember us) there was just something missing (18 other people???). . . . don't get me wrong we had a lovely time and we weren't trying to re-live it all again - we just wanted to re-visit and re-member. And we did that and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We even went back to The Conservatory Gardens on the Sunday and there was a wedding on (well, the bride was still in the car). Initially I was a little disappointed that the weather was so good this year and we had rain last year. However, we figured that we got a better deal. There were so many people around this year that if we had the same weather and the same crowds, there would not have been the same intimacy. So, all in all, we reckon we had a ball last year - and if it hadn't rained we never would have got that picture that everyone loved (the one at the bench). Whether you were there or not, if you want to join us in remembering, click on the link (title) above and flick though the photos.

Thanks so much to those of you who texted, phoned, emailed, sent cards - it was (and still is) very special.

"One down, 99 to go" - in case you are wondering where the title comes from, Rory reckons he witnessed a 100-year lease. . . . must have been the bubbles that went to his head :) Regardless, if the next 99 are as good, we'll be very happy.
