70 Years Young

I am glad my birthday is mid-year as it gives me a chance to celebrate it without having to compete with other major celebrations. Maybe that's why I always felt people with Christmas birthday get short-changed. Maybe that is not the case at all, some say it's more fun to celebrate a birthday when there is so much going on.

My Dad turned 70 on December 30th and decided that he wanted to share the day with just family! So we had to make it special, and I believe we did. We had already celebrated Christmas twice - Dec 25th at our house, turkey dinner, presents and all that goes with the festivities! Then more presents and dinner with Doug & Amanda at Alfie & Melissa's house (the joys of alternating Christmas, eh?) on the 27th.

So we had to do something special for the 30th . . . . why not a professional photo shoot, a chance to get decent picture of us all together! What a hoot, the photographer was great and managed to get us all in the right spots, with the right partners. I think one of the best shots may be The Birthday Boy with grandson, wearing the *crown* DJ made for him! Can hardly wait for next week to see the photos, I now the hard part will be choosing one image to get framed for Dad, who no more looks or acts like a 70 year old than DJ does!

Oh and the steak dinner was pretty awesome too - a combined effort from Children and Significant Others - good job 'Team Seaman'!

We love you Dad and hope we make you proud!
