Hello Sailor!

Many moons ago, when I was working in McDonald's, one of my nicknames was Sailor. . . . why? Think about it for a second if you don't get it!

Nobody calls me Sailor these days but seeing this exhibition at the Maritime Museum last week reminded me of those days!

As part of our summer staycation, along with doing some work around the house, we committed to seeing a bit of the city. And thanks to Nana Betty's Christmas present, we have a year pass to all the NS Museums so we don't mind popping in visits that last less than an hour (that's usually how long it takes DJ's interest to wane).

Having said that I could have stayed alot longer. The Hello Sailor exhibition is a temporary one and is excellent. If you can't read the subtitle, it says Gay life on the Ocean Wave! There is also a permanent Titantic Exhibition there which I saw years ago with Dad and a giant foam octopus which DJ tried to pull down. Mind you the gift store is nowhere near as good as the one at the Natural History Museum which both DJ & Jonathan seem to enjoy more.

But best part of hanging out in the city is restaurants and as we were on vacay we had to eat out. Great grub at Stayners Wharf, a look in at NS Crystal and took in some of the Buskers too. Pretty good day for a vacay.
