Vroom vroom

When I was younger, (. . . . so much younger than today - I hear a Beatles song in my head), I had a list of 100 Things to Do. I would get great pleasure in ticking the boxes of the things I had done. Never did get all the way through the list. However yesterday I ticked another one of those boxes – drove a Porsche! Yep, we took one out for a Test Drive – of course that counts! A 2001 Boxster and I have to say if I had had the cheque book with me, we would probably have it sitting it in the newly gravelled driveway today! Totally captivated by the idea of a real sports car – both of us. My inbox is now full of ads for Porsches & Jaguars from AutoTrader that Jonathan keeps sending me!
I had forgotten it was one of those things I always wanted to do but Jonathan didn’t! I wonder if I still have that list somewhere. Must check and see what else is on it. . . .

The garden and driveway continue to be a work in progress but we are getting very close to getting it done. The lawn is seeded (my hands are still sore); the trees and shrubs are nearly all planted, just one Japanese Maple left - we can’t seem to find the right spot for it.

We are getting plenty of comments and approving noises from the neighbours who all seem to take their dogs & kids out for walks in the evenings when it’s not too hot. They often stop and admire the work we are doing. Great way of meeting the neighbours too. Mind you, we won’t be putting out a tri-colour to match the neighbours new ‘Maple Leaf’ (Canadian flag) that flaps on it’s pole at the corner of the Pool deck!

As to the driveway, the gravel arrived and needs to be levelled and redistributed in places, that’s Jonathan’s job this weekend with the help of a mini-digger. Then we will have a spot to park the Porsche/Jaguar ;)
We’ll post a few photos in a week or two when it’s all done!
