“Well, Summer has Arrived, at least this week, and I took the hard top of the Jeep, put the soft top on and drove to work, for the first time this (Tuesday) morning.
When I say it’s a soft top it’s more like a summer top (technical term is a bikini) - anyway I got up early; rolled it out of the garage; started it and off I went to work.
On the back road where we live, it is great - you put the foot down and the straight 6 (engine) opens up and sounds fantastic - you smell the grass and the trees; life is good (all this and money too). It’s like being on a motorbike, its great!
Next I turned on to the highway and headed for Halifax, came up the off ramp in 2nd gear, flat out, into 3rd and we were away.
By the time I got to 5th gear I felt like I was driving a Dyson - any paper inside the car was sucked out; any dirt outside was sucked in. It was mad. The romantic idea of driving to work ‘topless’ soon got old as the smell of the trees and grass went away .I’m still picking the flies & bugs out of my hair. I think I'll wear my snow goggles tomorrow - at least it will keep the sh1t out of my eyes and stop them streaming.
However as I passed by a plate-glass window near the office I got a good look at myself(!)- Apart from the fact that I need to use more hair gel, I thought I looked as cool as it gets."
I wonder what the drive home will be like!
