As predicted a big fall of snow last Sunday (12th), but the unexpected snowfall on Thursday, well let's just say Jonathan's eyes were like saucers - the thrill of real snow, he says its like Livigno, only difference is, he was skiing, not driving in it in Livigno!
Me? Well I just love it, the sound of real snow crunching under your feet, the calmness that snow brings is wonderful. The only thing is snow is alot of hard work - ploughing, digging, shovelling, snowblowing (if you're lucky enough to have one). So last Sunday night I let Dad & Jonathan put on the snow gear and do all the work (for a change!). Jonathan says he was just moving the snow around with the blower - maybe he needs a bit of practice.
Out here in Grand Lake (our temporary accomodation) the lake didn't quite freeze (I still remember many winters skating on this lake as a kid!) but enough to allow snow to fall & settle on the lake surfaces. Around here there are many small lakes, all of which are snow covered, making it hard to tell the difference between water & land - a strange thing to see but really pretty. As the lakes have started to thaw a little (we had a couple of very mild days during the week), the scenery is even more picturesque - and very different to Home!
