Jonny B turns 4-ty

Guess how old!
Well, it had to happen one day . . . . . so I guess I can no longer claim to be married to a Toy Boy!! As Jonathan is not one for making a fuss - or being made a fuss of - it was a low-key sort of day, starting with Dylan barrelling into the bedroom with balloons in one hand and a card in the other other, declaring 'Happy Birthday Daddy' to a very sleepy Jonathan, and then climbing up on the bed dragging a large present behind him! Not much of a surprise I discovered later as Dylan has not yet learned how to keep a secret (but that's a good thing, right?)

Presents opened, everyone up, showered & dressed and we went to Tim's for breakfast en route to pre-school/work. Apparently Jonathan spent most of the day on a sugar high as I sent in a birthday cake for the team and was feeling a little winded after a long, brisk walk around the 'block' at lunchtime. So, being an old man now, he had to go home for a nap before going back out to dinner.

(some of) The Family @ Ela for Birthday dinner
Happy Birthday to me!
I thought I was surprising him by arranging for 'The Family' to join us, but apparently my Dad let that one out of the bag too . . . . seriously I should know better by now than to try to surprise Jonathan, but I insist on trying! Not all the gang could make it but he was delighted to see Sarah & Nick as well as my Dad, Alfie & Amanda. Jane had to stay home and host Book Club and Doug just didn't get that paper finished in time to come out to play!

Good company, great food, presents, cake and a few silly pictures taken by Dylan (the blurry ones are due to sticky fingers on the lens!) all made for a great night. But the real celebrations will happen on the 17th - roll on St Patrick's Day and the party at *Jonny B's* - yes indeed, the finishing touches are being put to the basement and the bar will be open!
