It's a Dog's Life

Oh yes, it's a Dog's Life alright. And what a life for Oisin, the Irish Shih Tsu who flew across the Atlantic, stopped off in New York for a while before moving to Halifax. Just as he was settling in, time to move again, but still in the city. Well, Patsy went back to Ireland for a week and a bit so Oisin got to stay in the country retreat ie our house.

Hardly in the door and he jumped in the bath, asking "Please can I have a bath?" as he knows Jonathan doesn't like it when he smells like a dog! So, he got bathed, despite the fact he was going to TJ's Groomers the next day for the works - a bit like cleaning the house before the cleaning lady comes as a friend said!

But he looked so smart when I picked him up the next day - as can be seen here. It's hard work getting pampered, you know!

It took a day or two for him to settle in and find his preferred sleeping spot. And now that he is settled in, Patsy is due back and it's back to being a city dog.
So, what will this globe-trotting pooch miss? I suspect the freedom to run free - no lead required around here - and the companionship. Oisin & Amy, who met a couple of times previous to this, had great fun charging through the woods in the early morning cool, demonstrating that it is not only cars that have 4-wheel drive as they charged up & down trenches, leapt over trees & rocks and reversed out of a couple of slippery spots. Oh yes, it's great to be in the country - especially when you can sleep all day. Mind you, only problem for us humans is if they sleep all day, they don't sleep all night . . . welcome home Patsy and here's to a good night's sleep for me!
