It is always a pleasure to have visitors but it is especially good when they come back! My Cousin Deb & her 2-year old came for a visit - all the way from Vancouver! They were in the Maritimes last summer, with Steve (husband & Dad) and made it to Fall River for the Canada Day celebrations. A fleeting visit but a promise to return - and so they did, well 2 of the 3 made it (next time Steve!) What a treat to spend time with an adorable 2-year old. She could wrap anyone around that little finger. We went to Mahone Bay on Patsy's birthday, where Oisin was treated like royalty; we took a few days to go to our childhood hang-out called Murray Corner (too many stories to include them all here, watch the blog for more on that topic!); we had beautiful weather, it only rained one day so we shopped & lunched; we BBQ'ed and ate al fresco; we walked and we talked; we laughed & we cried; we paddled (Elle & Mandy) & we swam (Deb); we spent time with family & friends and made some new ones too.
We went on Garden Tours (one of Miranda's favourite thing to do); long & short drives in the car; walks in the neighbourhood; ate Macaroni & Ice Cream (not together); we read stories and played with Sticker books. Best of all? Hearing a 2-year old say "Where's Ellie?"
Now it's back to that quietness that descends when visitors leave. For a few days it will feel like there is something missing. But then we will get back to 'normal'. Life goes on, eh? But we will talk about the time when Miranda was 2 and came to visit. More fond memories – now that’s what it all about!
