Pumpkin Fever

Halloween is so much fun! We had quite a few visitors last night, Rachael, Brooke, Chelsea & Hayley from next door, Ryan from across the street, the youngest girls (2 of 4) from two doors up and we got to meet a few more of the neighbours. Because we are new(ish) around here, I think some of the neighbours used it as an excuse to network! That's the kind of thing they do here. In fact one of the neighbours from a few streets over that we met a few months ago in the video store - an Irish family from Tipperary - drove the kids around especially to say Hi (and to let Jonathan know about the Lad's night out this Friday)!

Doug & Amanda came over - in costume (as Cruella deVil & Casey Jones from Ninja Turtles - they had dressed up on Saturday night so were well prepared). Jonathan had a scary monster mask that he wore for a bit but decided it would scare the little kids so took it off. I had my Witches Hat and black cloak but lost my Broomstick somewhere in transit from Dublin!!!

So many of the parents were dressed up too - we had a Baker, a Hula girl, Pumpkin Heads, more witches and a few I couldn't even describe! Everyone really got into the spirit. And the kids had Trick-or-Treat bags varying in size from small pumpkins to large Garbage bags! I think we impressed the neighbours with our array of decorations; treat bags & balloons for the kids and Flaming Popcorn Balls that went down better with the parents than the kids. In fact one of the neighbours said we can take their kids out next year and save them the trouble!!??

So, a few laughs, made a few new friends and didn't scare any of the kids away - all round a pretty good night!
