Road Trippin'

I love to get in the car and drive - especially if it's in a manual car and the scenery is good, but I'll take any car, anywhere.

Well this year we sure had our fair share of roadtrips:

#1. Dublin - Killaloe & back - 300 km round trip
In a 5 door diesel 1.4 engine, so different to my car back home
Highlight: stringing up the iPad
Alya, Harry & DJ watching a movie in back seat of the car as we drove to Clare

#2. Dublin - Galway  - 350km round trip
In the Ford Auris diesel 1.8l engine with a a manual gearbox - so different to my 3.5l suv back home. But what fun. I love driving, real driving, on country roads that twist & turn , especially the ones when you hold your breath for a few seconds because there might not be enough room for both cars to get past each other. So far, so good on that one!
Highlights: the pit stops along the way (Liffey Valley for coffee with Pat Mc; Loughrea to see Nicky & kids; seeing Perry & Bromwell's place in Rhode, Co Offaly); picking up turf from the road and the scenery in general
Coffee @ Liffey Valley
We haven't changed a bit, eh Nicky?
Leaving the O'Connor's
Somewhere in Co Kildare
Turf bogs near Rhode, Co Offaly

#3. Fall River to Murray Corner - 450km round trip.
In the mini!  Just DJ & I and a few stuffies
Highlight: driving the Mini!
Lawrence Court, Murray Corner

#4. Fall River - PEI 500 km round trip
All 3 of us in the Merc. Breakfast at Tim's then on the road. Great weather, stopped at Borden-Carleton. Highlight: Confederation Bridge
Coming up to Confederation Bridge
