So Long Summer

Flowers from the garden
We enjoyed the visit and the gifts you brought - there were many so indulge me for a minute while I recount a few . . . . the ones that return year on year are wonderful, including boating; dining al fresco; swimming at the Waeg; my birthday; road trips to the valley ie wine country; daffs & lilies from our garden.

Grandparent's Day
New twists on old favourites - Cottage Country this year saw us back at Murray Corner NB, without Cuz Deb & her girls but with Christina, (the other) DJ & Oona.  And a new one this year - Toney River NS with Carla Archibald and Dad & Jane who didn't know they were coming to celebrate  Grandparent's Day!

There were Kindermusik playdates and summer camp - imaginary play is so much fun - DJ went to the Beach; to the Fair; to the Cottage and best of all Camping. Thank you Miss Louise &  Miss Andrea, it was alot of fun.

New school (s), yes there were two. Happy to say DJ is well settled at his 'new school', had a great summer making new friends and has started a new term as 'one of the lads'. Just the other day there were many hugs given to the girls and boys before leaving them for a whole evening. He still misses 'his girls' but we did drop in for a visit.

Jonathan's new job - see Who's The Boss?

Netukulimk
Museums - Dylan loved the Netukulimk exhibition at the Natural History and Hello Sailor at the Maritime Museum was my fave. Thanks to Nana Betty, we bought a year's pass for all NS Museums and we have been using it.

New (old) FB friends - some of the faces were instantly recognisable, others took a little longer and there are still a few that are nowhere to be found!
Bonfire @ Sarah & Nick's

Time with Friends & Family - great to have Doug & Amanda around this summer; Alfie & Mel's house-warming party and of course the new addition to the family Tazzy (special mention for Tazzy Too, Dylan's stuffie). BBQs. Dinner Parties. Patios. Cold Beer. Rosé (my summer drink of choice). Corn on the Cob. Bonfires!

Pirates - dressing up is so much fun. Ever since DJ's 4th birthday party, it's all about pirates (and trucks).   Adam is a new fave, thanks Clodagh, we ordered the full set!

And Mother Nature was very good to us this year - plenty of sunshine and warmth, a few big puffs of wind,  a couple of good soakings but no hurricanes or tornadoes out here on the East Coast.

And best of all sharing it with the most adorable 4-year old on the planet, who is one of the reasons I continue to write this blog - even though there are more draft posts waiting to be finished than I would like!

Au revoir Summer - see you next year. We loved having you and look forward to seeing you again next year. In the meantime, we welcome your buddy - FALL - with open arms and a sense of anticipation for I know it's going to be a good one.

But let's see if I can finish some of those draft posts before getting into that :)
