OMG! Best Christmas Present Ever!
For years I have said I would love to wake up in the morning and not have to put on glasses to see out the window/across the room/the alarm clock. And now I can and it is awesome, bizarre, weird and wonderful all at the same time :)
It was a nerve-wrecking experience on the day but after a few hours of discomfort I started to get used to my movie-star look (dark wrap-around shades) and almost enjoyed napping every few hours to rest my eyes.
But I was amazed at how quickly my eyes healed - When I told the opthamologist(?) that I was seeing small halos around lights the first night, she laughed and said 'only small ones?' - and apart from not being able to see the computer screen in my office 4 days after the op, I was in pretty good shape. Mind you 2 days later it was no bother to see up close!
One of the funniest moments was a few days post-op, I was brushing my teeth and realised I could see myself in the bathroom mirror without getting up close. If you don't wear glasses you may not appreciate that!!
Now when I am out shopping, I wander into The Sunglass Hut and wondering which new sunglasses to buy - especially as my LASIK goodie bag included a coupon for 30% off.
