On the Job

What a change - after 10 years of not having an office-based job, I now have my own office at Dalhousie (one of the universities in Halifax for non-Canadian readers). Quite a coup apparently for a part-timer . . . . yes I have the enviable schedule of 3 days a week, 9-4 which leaves time to drop off & pick up DJ at daycare and still get all the housework done before the weekend :)

I am what is referred to as a Program Co-ordinator for a new project in the Biomedical Engineering department. And the best bit is no teaching, so no prepping to do! I go to work, I do my work and I leave. And I believe I get paid too :)

So what is it? Well, it's a training program which combines and develops skills and knowledge in Biomedical Engineering, clinical technology needs, engineering professional skills and entrepreneurship. And it's the last bit that really appealed!
